A Telecommunications Field Technician telecommunications Field Service Technician installs, repairs and maintains voice, data and video systems for a company's customers at the customer site. Prepares and documents a customer's network prior to implementing telecommunication system. Installs IP, network equipment and facilities. Acts as the first point of issue resolution, responds to field engineering issues and troubleshooting telecommunication problems. May train less experienced field technicians.

$18.00-$25.00 per hour (Based on Experience) Position Overview CSI of the Southeast is seeking an experienced Traveling Field Service Technician - Low Voltage Systems to install, troubleshoot, repair, and maintain commercial low voltage systems. This role is ideal for a technician who enjoys hands-on problem solving, working independently, and delivering high-quality service in the field. This position requires travel up to 75% of the time , including overnight stays. Key Responsibilities Install, troubleshoot, and service commercial low voltage systems Diagnose and repair issues in voice, data, CCTV, access control, and structured cabling systems Perform Cat5e, Cat6, and fiber optic terminations and testing Read blueprints, wiring diagrams, and technical documentation Complete accurate service reports and job documentation Communicate professionally with customers on-site Maintain safety and quality standards on all job sites Travel extensively (up to 75%), including overnight stays
Qualifications Required:
Strong troubleshooting and diagnostic skills Experience with structured cabling (Cat5e/Cat6/Fiber) Ability to read technical drawings and schematics Valid driver's license with acceptable MVR Ability to lift up to 75 lbs and work on ladders/lifts Strong customer service and communication skills Ability to pass a background check and drug test
Preferred:
