We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated experienced Fiber Splicer to join our dynamic telecommunications team. In this role, you will be responsible for installing, maintaining, and repairing fiber optic cables that form the backbone of modern communication networks. Your expertise will ensure the delivery of reliable, high-speed connectivity for a variety of clients and projects. Responsibilities Perform precise fiber splicing using advanced fusion splicing equipment to ensure optimal signal integrity and minimal loss. Install, troubleshoot, and repair fiber optic cabling systems in diverse environments, including aerial, underground, and indoor settings. Operate heavy equipment such as bucket trucks safely to access elevated or hard-to-reach installation sites while adhering to all safety protocols. Interpret technical drawings, schematics, and network diagrams to accurately plan and execute cabling layouts and infrastructure setups. Utilize diagnostic tools to identify network issues related to fiber optics, electrical systems, or computer networking components like LAN (Local Area Network) and WAN (Wide Area Network). Conduct engineering troubleshooting support for complex telecommunication systems, ensuring minimal downtime and optimal performance. Follow all safety standards outlined by the National Electrical Safety Code (NESC) and adhere to industry best practices for low voltage electrical work. Climb poles or structures safely using appropriate climbing gear when required for installation or maintenance tasks. Assist in interpreting schematics related to telephony, Ethernet cabling, and IT infrastructure projects to facilitate accurate installations. Requirements One year minimum experience as a fiber splicer with a strong understanding of fiber optic technology and splicing techniques. Demonstrated ability to operate heavy equipment such as bucket trucks safely within construction or telecommunication environments. Proficiency with diagnostic tools used for troubleshooting fiber optic and electrical systems; experience with computer networking is highly desirable. Knowledge of the National Electrical Safety Code (NESC), low voltage electrical systems, and telecommunication standards. Skilled in interpreting technical drawings, schematics, and engineering troubleshooting documentation related to cabling and network infrastructure. Ability to work at heights by climbing structures or poles using proper safety procedures; construction experience is a plus. Familiarity with Ethernet, LAN/WAN configurations, telephony systems, and power tools necessary for installation tasks. Strong technical proficiency with cabling techniques, network infrastructure setup, and troubleshooting support for IT systems. Excellent communication skills for collaborating with team members and providing technical troubleshooting support when needed.
