This is a senior-level field position requiring strong technical knowledge, advanced hands-on experience, and the ability to work independently with minimal supervision. The Technician IV will support central office and telecommunications environments, including DC power systems, transport equipment, structured cabling, and associated infrastructure. The position may also provide technical direction to junior technicians and interface directly with customers, vendors, and project teams. Essential Duties and Responsibilities Install, maintain, troubleshoot, upgrade, and remove telecommunications equipment and infrastructure. Perform installation and maintenance of central office equipment, including ironwork, AC systems, transport equipment, DC power systems, and associated infrastructure. Perform equipment testing, commissioning, and turn-up activities. Support both primary and secondary power systems within telecommunications environments. Perform DC power-related installation, maintenance, troubleshooting, and cutover activities. Coordinate power cuts with customers and ensure work is completed within approved maintenance windows. Provide advanced Smart Hands support, including rack and stack, equipment swaps, cabling, troubleshooting, testing, and remote technical support. Install and support structured cabling and integrated voice, data, network, and wireless systems. Perform additions, removals, changes, upgrades, and maintenance associated with service contracts and customer projects. Assist with engineering and planning activities for new installations and projects. Occasionally perform or support outside plant installation activities as required. Stage equipment and inventory project materials to verify quantities and accuracy prior to installation. Perform testing to verify wiring, cabling, equipment installation, and overall system functionality. Prepare and present Methods of Procedure (MOPs) for customer review and approval. Submit Engineering Change Requests (ECRs), redlines, and other documentation when changes affect work assignments, project scope, or specifications. Maintain accurate project documentation and ensure final paperwork is completed and delivered to the customer in a timely manner. Perform quality assurance checks and inspect completed work for accuracy and compliance with project requirements. Take ownership of assigned projects from start through completion, ensuring work is completed safely, accurately, on schedule, and according to customer expectations. Provide technical support to customers, technicians, and other field personnel as needed. Interface directly with customer contacts regarding projects, work orders, technical issues, and project progress. Coordinate with end users, customer representatives, and third-party vendors when required. Attend project planning, coordination, and progress meetings. Provide technical direction to junior technicians, assign tasks as appropriate, and monitor work for safety, efficiency, and quality. Maintain assigned tools and equipment and ensure required calibration remains current. Follow and promote all applicable environmental, health, safety, quality, and telecommunications standards. Perform other related duties as assigned. Additional Expectations Construction and telecommunications work is project-driven and may vary based on customer demand and workload. When specific project assignments are unavailable, employees may be required to assist with other related construction or telecommunications activities.

Ground support and site preparation Equipment and tool maintenance Warehouse or material support Equipment staging and inventory Assistance with other telecommunications or construction projects Required Qualifications High school diploma or GED required. Minimum of 6+ years of telecommunications or related infrastructure experience . Advanced field experience with the ability to work independently with minimal supervision. Demonstrated proficiency at a Technician III level or equivalent senior field technician experience. Hands-on DC power experience required . Experience working with primary and secondary power systems . Experience with telecommunications equipment testing, commissioning, and turn-up . Strong Smart Hands capabilities, including rack and stack, equipment swaps, cabling, troubleshooting, and remote support. Experience installing and maintaining telecommunications and central office equipment. Ability to develop, write, and execute Methods of Procedure (MOPs). Strong understanding of telecommunications installation, testing, quality, and safety standards. Ability to read and interpret project documentation, drawings, specifications, and installation requirements. Strong troubleshooting, communication, organization, and customer-facing skills.
Pay:
$30.00 - $35.00 per hour
