Field Support Technician Location:

Manassas, Virginia (Onsite) Position Summary This is a hands-on field engineering role supporting imaging and mission systems on submarines.

That means:

You're not just installing equipment—you're owning system uptime You'll be working in tight, high-stakes environments (literally inside submarines) Expect a mix of IT systems, networking, and hardware repair You'll likely be the person people call when something critical breaks Field Service Engineer Systems Technician Navy electronics specialist (civilian side) Skills that matter most (beyond what's listed) Root-cause troubleshooting (not just swapping parts) Networking fundamentals (IP, routing basics, maybe VLANs) Hardware familiarity (servers, embedded systems) Fiber optics handling (cleaning, testing, replacing) Documentation discipline (government work = paperwork matters)

Required:

Former Navy (especially submarine ET/ST) A field tech who's tired of basic installs and wants more complex systems Someone comfortable with DoD environments and clearance processes This is a serious, technical field role in the defense space —not entry-level, not casual. If you've got the background (or close to it), it can be a strong long-term career move. If not, the barrier to entry is pretty high due to the clearance and domain knowledge.
