Overview We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Residential Fiber Technician to join our dynamic team. In this role, you will be the frontline expert responsible for installing, maintaining, and troubleshooting fiber optic networks directly at customer residences. Your expertise will ensure seamless connectivity, exceptional service quality, and customer satisfaction. THIS IS A 1099 POSITION. YOU MUST HAVE YOUR OWN VEHICLE AND EQUIPMENT - INCLUDING A LADDER AND TOOLS.
Pay is based per job completion (avg of 2-4 jobs assigned each day) Duties Install and repair fiber optic cables using specialized tools and techniques, ensuring optimal signal quality and network performance. Perform network installation tasks within residential settings. Set up and configure routers and other networking equipment to establish reliable internet connections for customers. Conduct field service activities including troubleshooting network issues, replacing faulty components, and performing routine maintenance. Use hand tools such as wire strippers, crimpers, and ohmmeters to test electrical continuity and mechanical integrity of cabling systems. Interpret technical diagrams, schematics, and telecommunication standards to accurately complete installations and repairs. Communicate effectively with customers to explain technical procedures and ensure their understanding of the service provided. Qualifications Prior experience in fiber splicing, network installation, or as a service technician within telecommunications or related fields. Ability to work outdoors in various weather conditions while maintaining safety standards. Excellent problem-solving skills with a focus on delivering high-quality customer service.
