Installation Technician

Wired or Wireless, Inc (WOW) is a highly respected Spokane/North Idaho high-speed Internet and phone service provider that uses fixed wireless technology to connect homes and businesses to the Internet. The successful candidate will perform wireless equipment installations, maintenance services and equipment removal at customer locations throughout eastern Washington and Northern Idaho. They will also perform company tower work to include climbing towers, poles and other structures to install, maintain and/or replace wireless equipment at height. Work will require outdoor exposure in all types of weather and may require working long hours, including occasional weekends. The successful candidate may be required to walk over rough and/or rocky surfaces, operate ATVs and snow mobiles.

Responsibilities:

Performing site surveys/Installing of Dish Antenna to deliver Internet service; Installing, troubleshooting, or repairing the network equipment required to provide residential and business Wi-Fi and/or VoIP service; Doing basic to advanced networking, Wi-Fi and computer PC setup; Installing, terminating and testing Category cable; Providing excellent customer service; Being prompt, courteous and knowledgeable about the service and equipment; Installation, maintenance, and troubleshooting of customer WISP equipment and services; Perform site surveys to determine service availability and the best location for equipment installation; Accurately align and fine-tune various types of antennae to ensure optimal performance; Test and troubleshoot issues with network communication; Communicate with customers, answering their questions and ensuring their satisfaction; Adhere to all safety policies and procedures.

Minimum Qualifications:

Must be at least 18 years old; High School diploma or general equivalency diploma (GED); Previous experience in the telecommunications industry is a plus but not required; A valid, unrestricted driver's license; Willing to work outdoors in all weather conditions; Have a basic understanding of electronic theory, microwave radio, and low voltage DC systems preferred, but not required. Have a working knowledge of computers, and networking; Have your own set of basic hand tools required for installing electronic equipment to include: cable strippers, crimpers, screwdrivers, cable testers, etc; Communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing, Have excellent time management skills; Professional in appearance and demeanor. Hours may vary depending on Network Status. Some overtime and weekend work as required to maintain Network Infrastructure.

Physical Demands:

Ability to climb towers up to 300 feet (We will train and certify climbers); Able to lift/carry 50 lbs. regularly and up to 100 lbs. as needed with or without assistance.; Able physically to bend at the waist, squat, stoop, kneel, crouch, sit, walk, stand, climb, push, pull, lift, twist, balance on ladder, grip or grasp hand tools or equipment, fine finger manipulation, rotation of both wrists, extend and/or rotate arms, distinguish between various colors.

Required license or certification:

Valid driver license with a good driving record. Must pass initial drug test and background check. Applicants are required to pass all company drug testing and submit to a background check. The successful candidate will adhere to all OSHA, state, city/municipality safety requirements and training provided by the company as required.

Position Type and Expected Hours of Work:

This is a safety sensitive, full-time position with a typical work schedule of Monday - Friday, 7:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. with overtime requirements as needed.

WOW is offering a competitive compensation package commensurate with experience and expertise.
