Job Summary Weld-Craft Manufacturing Inc. is currently seeking an experienced Boat Assembly Technician / Aluminum Boat Fabricator to join our production team. We are looking for a dependable, motivated individual with direct experience in aluminum boat manufacturing, metal fabrication, assembly, or related shop work who can step into the position with limited training during our busy production season. This position supports the building and assembly of Weld-Craft's all-welded aluminum boats. The Boat Assembly Technician will assist with boat layout, aluminum parts fit-up, foam cutting and fitting, bend press support, rib press operation, fabrication support, material handling, and general shop production duties. The ideal candidate must be able to read a tape measure accurately, understand basic boat layout, follow work instructions, work safely, problem-solve on the shop floor, and assist other departments as needed. Compensation will be based on experience, skill level, and qualifications. Applicants should include any direct aluminum boat manufacturing, aluminum fabrication, forklift, brake press, foam fitting, welding support, or shop production experience that may not be listed on their resume. Requirements Must be dependable and punctual. Must be able to follow directions and work instructions. Must be willing to assist other departments as needed. Must possess basic reading and math skills. Must be able to read and use a tape measure accurately. Must be able to understand basic boat layout, part placement, and assembly flow. Must be able to problem-solve and communicate production issues clearly. Must be able to perform heavy lifting and work in a physical shop environment. Must follow all company safety rules, PPE requirements, and shop procedures. Must be able to work safely around aluminum materials, tools, equipment, and moving boats. Preferred Experience Experience fabricating aluminum sheet components for boat assembly. Experience in aluminum boat manufacturing or marine fabrication. Experience using a level, bending brake press, rib press, cutting shear, plasma torch, hand tools, power tools, and other fabrication equipment. Experience operating or assisting with forklift material movement, if trained and authorized. Experience cutting, fitting, and installing foam or flotation-related materials. Ability to read and interpret custom build sheets, layout marks, and production instructions. Ability to complete assigned tasks with little to no supervision after training. Ability to work efficiently while maintaining production and quality standards. Job Duties Operate or assist with the rib press, brake press, and other forming equipment. Lay out and fabricate aluminum structural parts for boat assembly. Cut, fit, and install foam as required by the build process and company standards. Reinforce and brace parts for welding. Locate and mark reference lines for proper positioning of boat components. Understand boat layout, part fit, and assembly sequence. Prepare fabricated parts for welders and other production departments. Perform minor welding support tasks as needed and within skill level. Assist with forklift movement, loading, unloading, staging, and material handling when trained and authorized. Perform heavy lifting, staging, moving, and organizing materials safely. Inspect work for fit, alignment, accuracy, and visible defects before moving forward. Report material shortages, fit-up issues, damaged parts, safety concerns, or quality problems to the supervisor. Assist with miscellaneous shop duties and other assigned tasks.
Pay:
$18.00 - $23.00 per hour
