Job Description
Company Overview Bingham Equipment Company is a leading provider of agricultural, construction, and outdoor power equipment in Arizona. As an authorized Stihl dealer, we are committed to providing top-tier service and support to our customers. We are currently seeking a skilled and self-driven Small Engine Mechanic to join our team and take the lead in servicing and repairing our line of Stihl equipment. Position Summary The Small Engine Mechanic will be responsible for diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining customer-owned and in-house Stihl outdoor power equipment. This is a solo technician role, ideal for a candidate with strong diagnostic skills and the confidence to work independently without technical backup. Key Responsibilities
- Diagnose and repair a wide range of Stihl power equipment including chainsaws, trimmers, blowers, and cut-off saws
- Perform preventative maintenance and safety checks
- Communicate effectively with customers regarding equipment issues, repair options, and maintenance tips
- Accurately document work performed, parts used, and labor times
- Maintain a clean and organized work environment
- Ensure all repairs meet manufacturer specifications and safety standards
- Order and track parts as needed
- Perform equipment setup for new units sold Qualifications & Requirements
- Minimum 2 years of experience in small engine repair (Stihl or similar brands strongly preferred)
- Proven diagnostic and troubleshooting skills
- Ability to read technical manuals and use diagnostic tools
- Strong communication and customer service skills
- Capable of working independently without technical supervision
- Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs and work in various weather conditions
- High school diploma or GED required; relevant certifications (e.g. Stihl Gold/Silver Level Technician, EETC) a plus
- Valid driver's license and reliable transportation What We Offer
