This is a junior-level position, but we are looking for someone who already has enough electrical knowledge and hands-on experience to perform basic electrical service calls independently after becoming familiar with our procedures. The ideal candidate is comfortable using a multimeter, troubleshooting basic DC circuits, installing electrical equipment, making professional electrical connections, and working with hand and power tools. Marine experience is preferred but not required. Candidates with relevant automotive, RV, low-voltage, solar, electrical, electronics, or similar troubleshooting experience are encouraged to apply. More advanced marine electrical skills will be developed through hands-on training while working with an experienced marine electrical technician. Responsibilities Independently perform basic marine electrical service and installation work within demonstrated skill level. Diagnose basic 12V and 24V DC electrical problems using a digital multimeter and other test equipment. Troubleshoot wiring, switches, breakers, fuses, relays, batteries, lighting, pumps, and other DC equipment. Install and replace batteries, battery switches, fuse blocks, circuit breakers, bus bars, pumps, lighting, switches, and other marine electrical equipment. Run, terminate, secure, protect, and label electrical wiring. Properly install heat-shrink terminals, butt connectors, ring terminals, and battery cable lugs. Test batteries and basic charging systems. Identify problems such as poor connections, corrosion, excessive voltage drop, damaged wiring, blown fuses, and failed components. Read and follow wiring diagrams, schematics, and manufacturer installation instructions. Perform clean, professional installations appropriate for the marine environment. Document work performed, parts used, test results, and additional issues discovered. Communicate professionally with customers while performing field service. Assist senior technicians with larger installations and advanced troubleshooting. Recognize when a problem is outside your current skill level and contact a senior technician before proceeding. Required Skills & Qualifications Previous hands-on electrical, electronics, automotive, RV, marine, or related technical experience. Basic understanding of DC electrical systems and electrical troubleshooting. Must be comfortable using a digital multimeter for voltage, resistance, and continuity testing. Understanding of voltage, amperage, resistance, polarity, grounding, fuses, and circuit protection. Ability to identify and troubleshoot basic electrical circuits. Experience stripping, crimping, terminating, and routing electrical wiring. Ability to use common hand and power tools safely. Ability to read basic wiring diagrams and equipment installation instructions. Good mechanical aptitude and problem-solving skills. Attention to detail and pride in clean workmanship. Ability to work independently and know when assistance is required. Professional communication and customer-service skills. Valid driver's license and reliable transportation. Ability to work aboard boats in engine rooms, bilges, under dashboards, and other confined spaces. Ability to work outdoors at marinas and boatyards. Preferred Qualifications Previous marine electrical or marine service experience. Automotive or RV electrical troubleshooting experience. Experience installing batteries, chargers, electrical accessories, lighting, pumps, or electronics. Familiarity with 12V and 24V battery and charging systems. Experience with marine electronics or

systems. Familiarity with ABYC electrical standards. Experience with battery monitors, solar charging, inverter/chargers, or lithium battery systems. Advanced marine experience is not required. We are willing to train someone who already has solid electrical fundamentals, good troubleshooting ability, and the motivation to develop into a skilled marine electrical technician. Typical Independent Service Calls Once competency has been demonstrated, this technician may be dispatched independently for jobs including: Battery replacement and testing Battery switch replacement Bilge pump and float-switch replacement Navigation and courtesy-light troubleshooting Lighting installation Switch replacement Fuse and circuit-breaker troubleshooting Basic wiring repairs 12V accessory installation USB and charging-outlet installation Battery and charging-system testing Troubleshooting basic non-functioning DC equipment Complex troubleshooting, shore-power systems, inverter/chargers, lithium conversions, high-current battery systems, major rewiring, and advanced marine electronics will initially be performed with or under the direction of a senior technician. What We're Looking For We're looking for someone who enjoys troubleshooting and working with their hands. You don't need to already be an expert marine electrician. You do need enough electrical knowledge to understand how a basic circuit works, use a multimeter correctly, make quality electrical connections, and systematically troubleshoot a problem instead of simply replacing parts. For the right candidate, this position provides significant hands-on experience and the opportunity to advance into a full Marine Electrical Technician role.
