Van Nuys, CA Job Details $60,000 - $100,000 a year 1 day ago Full Job Description Job Summary A Master Technician is responsible for performing Assembly and Inspections, Accessory Installations, Routine Maintenance, Repair, Warranty Repairs, Crash Estimates and Repairs, and reconditioning to the products we sell. This position will require the employee to supply and use the hand and power tools needed to complete the work needed. Large equipment such as air compressors, tire machines, etc. will be provided by Simi Motorsports, LLC. for the use of all technicians for company related work. Key Result Areas Quality / Competency of work: minimal defects in procedures and products installed. Efficiency of task completion, and overall productivity of available time.

with prescribed procedures, training, and dealership / other policies, regulations, and laws. Care and accuracy of written paperwork.

All Technicians:
A California M-1 driver's license endorsement is a requirement to start. As a rule, test riding of motorcycles is not permitted during first 180 days of employment. Successful completion of the California Motorcycle Safety Foundation Rider Safety Course, or evidence of equivalent training or experience, is a requirement of employment that is to be completed prior to conducting any test rides, as is sign off by General Manager or Dealer Principal. Working as a technician requires physical exertion, including rolling vehicles in and out of the shop and onto lifts; applying torque to remove or replace bolts, etc.; lifting, jacking and hoisting of motorcycle parts and components. Technicians must be physically capable of performing these tasks and of using proper lifting techniques on the job. Technicians are required to practice good job safety habits, as a condition of continued employment. Employees may be required to attend off-premises training. May be required to perform departmental / dealership housekeeping duties and assist in other projects requiring physical exertion and / or mechanical skills. Principle Activities Include Note any scratches or cosmetic deficiencies outside of manufacturer's standards and bring to attention of Service Advisor before commencing work. Accept dispatched work, clock into repair order, and determine required parts in-stock status, and request parts. Note all parts used on work order. Review work order in detail. Discuss any questions or concerns with Service Writer and/or Service Manager. If work order is warranty / extended warranty coverage, diagnose the problem and present to Service Writer with a complete list of parts needed (including identifying parts that are warranty and/or extended warranty related, specified by Job Number. Highlight the main/causal part on the work order / R.O.) and gain approval prior to repair / reassembly. Examine vehicle for any additional repair or safety concerns, in addition to authorized work. Inform Service Writer of any variances, additions, or unforeseen circumstances. At the same time, inform Service Writer of any potential variances from allotted time or scheduled completion. Perform all requested procedures, repairs, services, etc. Make clear and appropriate notations of procedures performed, as well as further recommended procedures. Ask for and receive authorization before performing any procedures not authorized by customer signature on original work order. Retain all take-off parts, label and deliver to Service Writer for return to customer. Return and tag all warranty parts and place in your warranty bin or on warranty shelves. Read, understand, follow, and complete ALL assembly manuals and checklists provided by the manufacturer and dealership. If none are received with the work order request one before beginning work. Test ride motorcycles per established routes (ask Service Manager for details), obeying all traffic laws, and operating vehicles safely at all times. No test rides during first 180 days of employment. Maintain an orderly and clean work area. Participate in department Safety and Team Performance Meetings. Discuss technical issues with factory technical assistance personnel as needed. Assist with shop open and close procedures. Perform motorcycle condition appraisals and B-Preps / detailing (as directed). Push motorcycles in and out (as directed), and uncrate / receive motorcycles (as directed). Fill out insurance adjustment quotes on damaged vehicles (as directed). Assist with general department housekeeping (as directed).
