Job Description

Job Summary Join our dynamic team as a Marine Service Technician, where you will be at the forefront of maintaining, repairing, and optimizing marine vessels and equipment. This energetic role offers the opportunity to work with a diverse range of marine systems, utilizing your mechanical, electrical, and fabrication skills to ensure top performance and safety. You will play a vital part in delivering exceptional service to our clients by diagnosing issues accurately, performing repairs efficiently, and providing expert advice on vessel maintenance and upgrades. Duties Conduct comprehensive inspections of marine vessels using schematics, technical manuals, and diagnostic tools to identify mechanical, electrical, and structural issues. Perform repairs and maintenance on engines, electrical systems, sheet metal components, rigging, and other vessel parts with precision using hand tools, power tools, welding equipment, soldering irons, calipers, and other measurement instruments. Assemble new components or retrofit existing systems by following detailed schematics and fabrication specifications. Utilize heavy lifting techniques safely with appropriate equipment to handle large or heavy parts during installation or repair processes. Diagnose electrical problems using ohmmeters and other testing devices; perform wiring repairs including soldering and component replacement. Maintain vessels through routine vehicle maintenance tasks such as fluid changes, filter replacements, and system checks to ensure optimal operation. Collaborate with customers to provide clear explanations of repairs needed and maintenance recommendations while delivering outstanding customer service. Assist in the training of team members on technical procedures related to marine systems and safety protocols. Ensure all work complies with safety standards and industry regulations while maintaining a clean and organized workspace. Experience Proven service technician experience within the marine or heavy equipment industry is highly preferred. Strong mechanical knowledge complemented by experience working with schematics, assembly processes, fabrication techniques, welding, sheet metal work, and precision measuring instruments. Electrical experience including troubleshooting wiring systems with ohmmeters and soldering skills is essential. Hands-on experience with rigging operations on vessels or similar machinery enhances your suitability for this role. Familiarity with military equipment or systems can be advantageous due to the technical complexity involved. Experience in vehicle maintenance or heavy machinery repair provides a solid foundation for success here. Excellent customer service skills paired with effective communication abilities are vital for engaging clients professionally while explaining technical issues clearly.
