MARTAC Marine Propulsion Technician Job Details:

Duties/Responsibilities:
  • Identify and correct issues in marine propulsion systems, including engines, steering and control systems.
  • Conduct service intervals for fleet maintenance to include oil changes, fluid checks and other preventative maintenance to ensure optimal operating performance of the fleet.
  • Ensure maintenance tasks are performed as directed, on schedule and to specification.
  • Perform performance testing and diagnostic on engines and other systems.
  • Maintain accurate record of all maintenance and repair activities.
  • Work closely with engineering in development and integration of new propulsion systems.
  • Follow all MARTAC policies and procedures.
  • Additional duties as assigned.
Required Skills/Abilities:
  • Strong mechanical and electrical skills, with expertise in marine inboard/outboard engines (Gas and Diesel).
  • Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving abilities to diagnose complex issues.
  • Experience with a variety of hand, air and power tools
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite and various drivetrain specific diagnostic tools.
  • Attention to detail.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills for effective interaction with team, management, vendors, and cross-functional teams.
  • Ability to lift up to 50lbs, stand for extended periods of time, and traverse steps and ladders.
  • Must be able to work overtime as needed.
Education and Experience:
  • 3-5 years of direct experience in the marine, boatbuilding, or shipbuilding industry is highly preferred.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of marine propulsion systems and boat construction processes.
  • ABYC, NMMA, Mercury Certification or relevant industry certifications are highly preferred.
Ability to commute/relocate:
  • Melbourne, FL 32934: Reliably commute or planning to relocate before starting work (Required).
