Job Description
A‑1 Power Equipment is hiring a Small Engine Technician/Mechanic for our Odon, IN store. You'll help triage, repair, and service outdoor power equipment from brands like Cub Cadet, Hustler, Stihl, DeWalt, and TYM, with on‑the‑job training provided for entry‑level candidates. About Us A‑1 Power Equipment is a locally owned outdoor power equipment dealership with full‑service locations in Newburgh and Odon. We sell and service leading brands like Cub Cadet, Hustler, Stihl, DeWalt, TYM , and more. Our customers are homeowners, commercial cutters, farmers, and property owners who depend on us to keep their equipment running. Who We're Looking For We're open to all experience levels - from someone just starting out who wants to learn the trade, to an experienced small engine or automotive technician looking for a stable, well‑run shop. You might be a good fit if you: Enjoy working with your hands and solving mechanical problems. Are organized and like having a clear process to follow. Communicate well with teammates and take pride in doing work the right way. Show up on time, every day, ready to work and learn. Key Responsibilities (Your responsibilities will grow as your skills grow.) Inspect and triage incoming equipment (walk‑behind and riding mowers, trimmers, blowers, chainsaws, etc.) and document customer concerns. Look up parts using our parts systems and add parts and labor lines to repair orders. Perform maintenance and repairs on outdoor power equipment for brands such as Cub Cadet, Hustler, Stihl, DeWalt, and TYM, including: Oil changes, blades, belts, filters, tune‑ups. Diagnosing and repairing fuel, ignition, and basic electrical issues. Assembly and setup of new units as needed.
