Job Description

Build America's Finest Offshore Fishing Boats Southport Boats is seeking an experienced Marine Electrical & Mechanical Technician to join our growing production team. If you take pride in building world-class boats and enjoy solving complex electrical and mechanical challenges, we'd like to meet you. What You'll Do Install and troubleshoot 12V, 24V, and 120VAC marine electrical systems Install marine electronics including Garmin, Simrad, and Raymarine equipment Build and test wiring harnesses, switch panels, batteries, charging systems, and
NMEA 2000
networks Install pumps, plumbing, steering, trim tabs, fuel systems, and other onboard mechanical systems Read wiring diagrams and schematics Diagnose and repair electrical and mechanical issues during production and sea trials Perform final quality inspections to ensure every Southport meets our standards Qualifications 3+ years of marine electrical or marine mechanical experience preferred ABYC Certification (Electrical or Systems) preferred NMEA Certification or marine electronics installation experience is highly desirable Strong understanding of AC/DC electrical systems Ability to interpret wiring diagrams and technical drawings Experience with modern marine electronics and networking Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills Positive attitude with a commitment to quality craftsmanship What We Offer Competitive pay based on experience Full-time, year-round employment Health benefits and paid time off 401(k) with company match Paid training and opportunities to earn ABYC and NMEA certifications Modern manufacturing facility A collaborative team that takes pride in building premium offshore boats If you're passionate about marine technology and want to help build some of the industry's finest offshore fishing boats, we'd love to hear from you.
