Job Description
Job Summary Marine Technician Candidate IThe Marine Technician Candidate I's responsibility is to perform the duties below on a regular basis and meet customer satisfaction standards as well as company sales and safety requirements.
This position requires the team member to work five days per week and eight hours per day during the busy season. Marina operating hours range from 5:30 a.m. - 8:00 p.m., and seasonal schedule changes may take place at management discretion.
Diagnose and repair various gensets, 12V and battery bank systemsOperate diagnostic softwarePerform winterization and spring commissioning of engines and ship systemsInstallations such as new engines, air conditioning systems, pumps, anchor windlass, and others as assignedPerform mechanical repairs including water systems, waste systems, steering systems, engine controls, pumps, etc.
Help train and assist others as neededDemonstrate good judgment and problem-solving skills and abilitiesPerform other duties as assigned or apparent
Must have strong organizational skills and the ability to prioritize work

Duties & Responsibilities:
Troubleshoot and repair marine gas and diesel engines from maintenance to complete overhaulRepair/rebuild gearsets, transmissions and stern drivesDiagnose and repair carbureted and fuel injected intake systemsRepair propulsion systems such as transmissions, sail drives, stern drives, etc.Diagnose and repair various gensets, 12V and battery bank systemsOperate diagnostic softwarePerform winterization and spring commissioning of engines and ship systemsInstallations such as new engines, air conditioning systems, pumps, anchor windlass, and others as assignedPerform mechanical repairs including water systems, waste systems, steering systems, engine controls, pumps, etc.
Help train and assist others as neededDemonstrate good judgment and problem-solving skills and abilitiesPerform other duties as assigned or apparent
Minimum Qualifications and Requirements:
Act with the highest level of integrity and maintain a positive attitudeHigh school diploma required6+ years of experience in the performance of mechanical repair and installationOEM certification(s)Ability to speak and read English and understand electrical wiring diagramsAbility to use test instrumentsAbility to use specialty tools as designated by OEM'sMust provide tools and test equipmentSpecialty tools and diagnostics providedStrong electrical troubleshooting capabilitiesExperience in electrical and electronic installationsMust be able to meet the physical requirements of the jobStrong work ethic and personal commitmentAbility to work in a team environment to achieve team, department, and company goalsAbility to be a self-starter and work independentlyExperience with a variety of internal combustion engines (diesel, inboard, outboard, etc.)Diesel-only experience is welcome!Must have strong organizational skills and the ability to prioritize work
