Job Description

Marine Service Technician We are looking for experienced marine mechanics to join the Rock Outdoors team, featuring a state-of-the-art marine sales and service center!
Primary duties include:
  • Maintenance and service on Yamaha, Mercury, Suzuki and Evinrude outboard motors.
  • Knowledge of factory certification requirements for boats.
  • Prepare new boats including installations on depth finders, trolling motors, power poles, etc.
  • Perform preventive maintenance on marine machinery and components.
  • Ensure all warranty work is completed to manufacturer guidelines.
  • Examine, diagnose, and troubleshoot mechanical and electrical problems.
  • Effectively communicate the nature and extent of damage or malfunction to the customer.
  • Consistently demonstrate attention to quality and a customer service mindset.
  • Set up and participate in boat shows and other off-site promotional events.
Qualifications:
  • Proficiency with Mercury, Yamaha, Suzuki and Evinrude outboard motors; certification(s) preferred.
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience working on boats in a shop or marina setting.
  • Ability to take and pass required certification tests as needed.
  • Excellent attention to detail and organization skills.
  • Ability to be productive and work efficiently in a team environment.
  • Possesses excellent customer service skills, communication and listening skills.
  • Strong organizational skills with attention to detail.
  • Able to respond appropriately to changes in direction or unexpected situations.
  • Prolonged periods of standing and walking.
  • Capable of lifting heavy objects with or without reasonable accommodation.
  • High school diploma or GED required.
$18.00 - $30.00 per hour, full time with benefits. Compensation commensurate with experience. Full time with benefits, Year-Round Employment!
