Job Description

If you want to be a part of a excellent team and work in a fun environment, here is your chance. We are looking for a Marine Technician to add to our service team. Experience is required. Mechanical knowledge is a requirement. Position duties include outboard motor maintenance and repair, boat maintenance and repair, boat cleaning, general labor, and more. This is a full time position. This Team Member will need to be a motivated, team player, with strong mechanical skills. They will need to be willing to learn, be good with people, and have a clean driving record. This is a 40+ Hour a week position, AND
SOME SATURDAYS AND OVERTIME ARE REQUIRED IN SEASON
(March-September). This position will include duties such as:
  • RIGGING
  • Rigging is the
NUMBER ONE
Priority at Blue Springs Boat Company. Properly rigging a boat is the foundation for our customers to have an exceptional boating experience!!! We have a saying "
IF IT'S WRONG AT DELIVERY
IT WILL ALWAYS BE WRONG!
" This means if the rigging process is not completed properly, we will fall short of our goal of offering an exceptional customer experience.
  • SERVICE
  • Performing "On the water" Service which will require strong mechanical skills. Duties will include services from oil changes to stereo installations to troubleshooting. Outboard motor knowledge is preferred. We will train the right candidate. You MUST be mechanically inclined to learn these skills.
  • Good people skills are a requirement in this aspect of the business
  • Customers will be meeting you at their boats to discuss the issues they are having. Performing service "in house" at the dealership including oil changes, electrical work, stereo installations, CLEAN UP , etc. and some other duties which may not be included here.
  • DELIVERY
  • Techs will assist in New and used boat deliveries which includes delivering boats to different lakes all over the region (which involves driving and pulling a boat trailer) and performing our delivery process, which we call "Boaters 101".
  • Excellent people skills are a requirement in this aspect of the business
  • You are the last Team Member that has contact with our customer.

PREPARTION
  • Duties such as cleaning the showroom/bathrooms/offices/boats etc.
, washing boats (outside), picking-up trash around the dealership, point of sale display set-ups, and some other duties which may not be included here.
WE ALL CLEAN AT BLUE SPRINGS AND THIS INCLUDES BATHROOMS
  • Additional Details This position does include some physical work.
You will need the ability to lift up to 50lbs, operate machinery such as a power washer and/or forklift, be able to work outside during both the summer or winter months, and there may be other duties which are not listed here. We are a team here and
ALL OF OUR TEAM MEMBERS WILL ASSIST IN PREPERATION OF NEW AND USED BOATS WHICH MEANS CLEANUP AND DETAILING WILL BE REQUIRED. CLEANING BOATS, CLEANING THE
SHOWROOM, and
CLEANING BATHROOMS IS REQUIRED AT BLUE SPRINGS BOAT COMPANY.
  • Work Schedule Our Dealership is open Monday-Friday 8am-5pm and on Saturday from 10am-2pm and closed on Sunday. This position will require you to work 40 hours per week plus overtime for much of the boating season (March
  • September). The normal schedule will be 5 days a week from Monday to Friday. This position will average 5 days a week working 40+ hours per week. During peak season (April-July) 6-day work weeks MAY BE common. You may also have late evenings depending on customers schedules.
  • Benefits Benefits include time & ½ overtime pay, 401K w/ 3% company match, paid holidays, paid vacations, annual bonuses, extreme growth potential, on-the-job training, company paid training, employee discounts, and much more.
  • Compensation
  • For an entry level tech with little to no experience the pay will be $14-16 per hour depending on experience. (Approximately $35,000 per year)
  • An experienced technician will start at $16-20 per hour plus a billable hour bonus depending on actual work completed. (Approximately $45,000
  • 55,000 per year)
  • A seasoned technician/Master technician could be $18-24 per hour plus a billable hour bonus and the ability to choose flat rate pay if the technician chooses to do so. (Approximately $55,000
  • 75,000 per year)
