In this energetic role, you'll diagnose, repair, and optimize engines to ensure peak performance, supporting customers with reliable solutions. Your mechanical expertise and hands-on skills will drive customer satisfaction and keep equipment running smoothly across various industries. Duties Diagnose engine issues using schematics, electrical testing, and mechanical inspection techniques Repair and overhaul small engines, including gasoline and diesel-powered units, ensuring they meet safety and performance standards Perform routine maintenance such as oil changes, spark plug replacements, and filter replacements to extend equipment lifespan Use hand tools, power tools, welding equipment, and soldering techniques to disassemble, repair, and reassemble engines and components Conduct heavy lifting of equipment parts safely while adhering to safety protocols Interpret technical manuals, schematics, and service bulletins to troubleshoot complex mechanical problems Test repaired engines on-site or in controlled environments to verify proper operation before returning equipment to service Skills Proven dealership experience or service technician background with small engine repair expertise Strong mechanical knowledge of gasoline and diesel engines, including Caterpillar equipment if applicable Proficiency in reading schematics and technical diagrams for troubleshooting purposes Experience with automotive repair, generator repair, heavy equipment maintenance, or similar fields Skilled in electrical work such as soldering and electrical troubleshooting within engine systems Familiarity with vehicle maintenance procedures and the use of hand tools, power tools, welding equipment, and heavy lifting techniques Excellent customer service skills with the ability to communicate technical information clearly Ability to work independently or as part of a team in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail This role is perfect for motivated technicians eager to apply their skills in a rewarding environment that values quality workmanship and continuous learning.
