  • Position Overview:
  • The ideal candidate will be responsible for the maintenance, repair, and servicing of outdoor power equipment and other small engine machinery. This role requires a keen eye for detail, a strong mechanical aptitude, and the ability to work independently as well as part of a team.
  • Key Responsibilities:
  • Maintenance and Repair:
  • Diagnose and repair a variety of outdoor power equipment, including lawnmowers, chainsaws, trimmers, leaf blowers, and other small engine machinery. Perform regular maintenance to ensure optimal performance and longevity.
  • Troubleshooting:
  • Identify mechanical issues, determine appropriate repair methods, and implement solutions efficiently. Use diagnostic tools and equipment to assess problems accurately.
  • Parts Management:
  • Order, replace, and manage parts inventory to ensure that repairs can be conducted without delay. Maintain detailed records of parts used and repairs performed.
  • Quality Assurance:
  • Conduct thorough inspections of equipment post-repair to ensure all issues have been resolved and the equipment is safe for use. Uphold company standards for quality and safety.
  • Customer Service:
  • Interact with customers to provide clear information about repairs needed, costs involved, and estimated timelines. Offer guidance on equipment care and maintenance.
  • Record Keeping:
  • Maintain accurate records of all service and repair work, including time spent and parts used. Provide detailed reports to management as needed.
  • Collaboration:
  • Work closely with other mechanics and staff to ensure a smooth workflow and high levels of customer satisfaction. Support colleagues by sharing knowledge and expertise.
  • Qualifications:
  • Proven experience as a mechanic specializing in outdoor power equipment or similar small engine machinery.
  • Strong understanding of mechanical, electrical, and fuel systems in small engines.
  • Proficiency with diagnostic tools and repair equipment.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to read and interpret technical manuals and schematics.
  • Strong communication skills, with the ability to explain complex issues in simple terms.
  • Physical ability to perform manual labor, including lifting heavy equipment.
  • Certification in small engine repair is preferred but not required.
  • Work Environment:
  • Primarily indoors in a workshop setting, with occasional outdoor work as needed.
  • Use of protective gear and adherence to safety protocols is required.
