7:00 am•3:00 pm, Monday•
Friday SALARY:
$1963.51 to $2257.05 bi-weekly
DESCRIPTION
Incumbent repairs and replaces tires and monitors and maintains tire inventory on all City of Lafayette vehicles and equipment; Evaluates tire condition; Performs oil changes, lubrication and general maintenance on all City vehicles and equipment; Has a working knowledge of repair principles and practices; Troubleshoots repairs and formulates repair procedures, as related to job duties; Performs on-site and off-site repairs for broken down vehicles and equipment; Completes computer work orders for tasks performed; Performs clean-up duties inside and outside facility; Performs related essential / non-essential functions as required or assigned.
REQUIREMENTS
High School diploma or G.E.D. Ability to obtain a Class B C.D.L.; Ability to operate all City of Lafayette vehicles legally and safely; Availability to work overtime, nights, weekends, and holidays as necessary. Must be able and willing to obtain training and/or certifications in required skills. Must hold a valid Indiana driver's license and have a demonstrated safe driving record.
PHYSICAL EFFORT AND WORK ENVIRONMENT
Performs light to heavy work requiring lifting, carrying, pushing, and pulling actions; Required to walk, stand, sit, lie down, and climb while completing work assignments. Work is performed both inside and outside under hot/cold conditions. Generally, performs work inside garage area where contact with some hazardous conditions, such as harmful cleaning agents, chemicals, dirt, dust, grease, and noise may occur; Safety gear, such as safety shoes, gloves, eye protection, welding gear, safety tire cage, inline air gauges, and any other safety equipment needed for assigned tasks, must be utilized.
