Summary The Tower Technician is responsible for assisting in the erection, construction, and/or maintenance of wireless towers. Ensuring that work is performed in accordance with all safety and quality guidelines and expectations. This is a safety-sensitive position. Key Responsibilities Safety First - Put safety first and production second. Always. Perform work on the tower top, looking after all aspects of work while at the tower top, ensuring that a safe, quality installation has been performed, including rigging, hoisting, landing, fastening, load hopping, etc. Installation of up-top equipment including masts, clamping, bracing, supports, antennas, RRUs, cabling, bolting, assist in shooting proper azimuth within tolerances, labeling, picture-taking, and documentation. Assisting in gathering all closeout documents is an absolute must. At the instruction of the Tower Lead, perform coax, fiber, lines, and hybrid cable installation, connector installation, sweep and testing assisting, weatherproofing, color-coding, labeling, etc. connect coax feedlines and jumpers per piping diagrams, and support and fasten adequately for a quality, lasting installation. Do grounding, terminations, fastening, proper bolting and antioxidant use, support of leads, cadwelding as required, etc. Assist with the overall job groundwork, including all tasks required to build and install a site per customer specs, maintain a safe work environment, daily use and completion of JSA forms, assist with overall crew work, maintenance of vehicles and equipment, etc. Must continue to work towards training and certifications for tower-related work. Assist in the installation of all tower-related aspects of the wireless cell site. Ensure the highest level of safety and quality control requirements are upheld. Assist in the assembly of the monopole, self-support guyed towers and rooftops. Assist in the transmission line and installation. Responsible for tool inventory and upkeep daily on the job site. Other duties as assigned. Physical Demands This job operates in a field environment. Must be in good physical condition with the ability to routinely bend, squat, climb, kneel, push, pull, lift 50lbs or more, lift in awkward positions, stand, and twist for extended periods.
