Job Description
Job Summary The Fire Training Tower Installer is responsible for the assembly, installation, and maintenance of fire training towers used by fire departments and emergency response organizations. This role involves working with structural components, safety systems, and training props to ensure installations meet engineering specifications, safety standards, and client requirements. Key Responsibilities Assemble and install fire training towers, including modular and custom-built structures Interpret blueprints, technical drawings, and engineering plans Operate construction tools and heavy equipment (e.g., lifts, cranes, power tools) Install training features such as burn rooms, stair systems, rappelling anchors, and confined space props Ensure all installations comply with local building codes, OSHA regulations, and fire training standards (e.g., NFPA guidelines) Perform site preparation, including layout, leveling, and anchoring of tower foundations Conduct inspections, testing, and troubleshooting of installed structures Collaborate with project managers, engineers, and fire department personnel Travel to job sites as required (often nationwide) Maintain a safe work environment and follow all safety protocols Required Qualifications High school diploma or GED (technical or construction-related training preferred) Experience in construction, structural installation, or similar field Ability to read and interpret blueprints and schematics Familiarity with hand and power tools Strong understanding of workplace safety practices Physical ability to lift heavy materials, work at heights, and perform manual labor Preferred Qualifications Experience with steel erection, welding, or mechanical assembly Knowledge of fire service training environments OSHA 10 or OSHA 30 certification Drivers license with DOT medical cert Rigging or fall protection certification Work Environment Primarily outdoor construction sites Frequent work at heights and in varying weather conditions Travel-heavy role with overnight stays depending on project location Compensation & Benefits (customize as needed) Competitive hourly wage or salary Overtime opportunities Travel expenses covered (hotels/dinner) Key Skills Mechanical aptitude Attention to detail Teamwork and communication Problem-solving Time management
