In this energetic position, you will be responsible for directing vehicular and pedestrian traffic, ensuring smooth operations, and safeguarding workers and the public. Your keen attention to detail and proactive communication will help create a secure environment where construction projects can progress efficiently. This paid position offers an exciting opportunity to be part of impactful infrastructure development while honing your skills in traffic management and construction safety. Duties Set up and operate traffic control devices such as cones, signs, and barriers to guide vehicles and pedestrians safely around construction zones Direct traffic flow using clear hand signals or flagging equipment, ensuring compliance with safety regulations Communicate effectively with construction crews, drivers, pedestrians, and team members to coordinate movements and prevent accidents Monitor work zones continuously for hazards or unsafe behaviors and report issues promptly Assist with the placement of heavy equipment including dozers, loaders, backhoes, graders, dump trucks, and front loader trucks to facilitate construction activities Support site safety protocols by ensuring all personnel adhere to traffic control plans and safety standards Maintain accurate records of daily traffic control activities and report any incidents or irregularities Experience Prior experience working on construction sites or in traffic management roles is highly desirable Familiarity with heavy equipment operation such as dozers, loaders, backhoes, graders, dump trucks, or front loader trucks is a plus Knowledge of utility locating procedures enhances safety awareness during site operations Experience with paving or general construction activities demonstrates versatility in construction environments Ability to operate or understand the use of Caterpillar equipment is beneficial Strong communication skills for clear flagging signals and coordination among team members Physical ability to stand for extended periods, walk across uneven terrain, and perform manual tasks as needed Join us in creating safer roads and thriving communities!
