GED Driver's License Flagger Certification Full Job Description Job Summary :

We are seeking responsible and attentive individuals to serve as traffic control flaggers at construction sites. The role involves directing vehicle movement safely through work zones, setting up traffic control signs and signals, and ensuring the safety of workers and drivers. Candidates will work outdoors in various weather conditions and must be able to stand for extended periods while performing their duties. Training and certification assistance are available, with opportunities for advancement based on experience.

Responsibilities:

Direct traffic using hand signals, flags, and signs to maintain safe flow through construction zones. Set up and take down traffic control signs, cones, and barriers according to plans. Communicate clearly with drivers and construction personnel to coordinate movements. Warn workers of approaching vehicles that do not heed signals. Record license numbers of traffic violations for law enforcement as needed. Maintain awareness of surroundings to respond quickly to unexpected events. Operate safety equipment such as stop/slow paddles, radios, and vehicles within the work zone. Work in outdoor environments, often standing or walking for long periods in various weather conditions.

Qualifications:

Must be at least 18 years old; 21+ preferred. High school diploma or GED required. Ability to communicate effectively verbally and in writing. Ability to work independently with minimal supervision. Good physical condition to stand for long durations and perform physical tasks such as lifting cones and signs. Valid state identification; a valid driver's license is preferred. Certification as a flagger is preferred; training can be provided by the company. Reliable communication device (such as a smartphone) is recommended. Pay and Benefits $16.00/hour — no Flagger Certification $17.50 - $21.00/hour — with valid Flagger Certification, based on years of experience
