Job Summary We are seeking a vigilant and energetic Traffic Control Flagger to ensure the safety and smooth flow of traffic around construction sites and civil infrastructure projects. In this vital role, you will manage traffic patterns, assist construction crews, and maintain a safe environment for workers and the public. Your proactive approach will help prevent accidents, facilitate efficient project progress, and uphold safety standards on busy job sites. This paid position offers an exciting opportunity to be an essential part of large-scale construction projects, contributing to highway maintenance, utility work, and other critical infrastructure developments. Responsibilities Direct vehicular and pedestrian traffic around active construction zones using standardized hand signals and signage. Set up and remove traffic control devices such as cones, barricades, and warning signs to establish safe work zones. Communicate clearly with construction teams, drivers, and pedestrians to coordinate safe passage through or around work areas. Monitor the site continuously for safety hazards or non-compliance with traffic control plans, reporting issues promptly. Assist with the setup of temporary traffic signals or flagging stations in accordance with ATSSA (American Traffic Safety Services Association) standards and guidelines. Support heavy equipment operation by guiding machinery operators during site movements when necessary. Maintain detailed logs of daily activities, incidents, and safety checks to ensure compliance with project standards. Qualifications Prior experience in construction site roles or traffic control is preferred but not required; training will be provided. Ability to perform manual handling tasks such as setting up barriers or lifting signage safely. Mechanical knowledge related to construction tools and equipment is a plus. Strong understanding of ATSSA regulations concerning traffic control and commercial vehicle safety standards. Physical stamina to stand for extended periods, perform manual tasks, and work outdoors in various weather conditions. Construction experience is beneficial but not mandatory. Pay:
$14.00 - $17.00 per hour
