Job Description

Job Summary Springfield Township is seeking to fill a Road Maintenance Worker position. Qualified candidates will possess a combination of education, training, and experience which demonstrates a knowledge of roadway maintenance. Possession and maintenance of a valid Commercial Driver License (CDL), Class B (air brakes), is preferred. This is a hands-on position that requires the ability to work independently. Responsibilities The position requires manual and semi-skilled labor activities related to maintenance and construction of roadways including snow and ice control activities; along with cutting trees, brush, grass and weeds; litter and debris pick up; operation of hand-held power equipment; routine preventive maintenance activities; and other duties as assigned. The position requires the operation of a variety of road maintenance equipment, including dump truck, back hoe, brush chipper/shredder, excavator, Durapatch machine, lawn care equipment, and motor vehicles. Normal work hours are 7 a.m. to 3:30 p.m., but may vary.
