The ideal candidate will be responsible for inspecting, repairing, and maintaining railcars to ensure safety, reliability, and compliance with industry standards. This role offers an opportunity to work in a dynamic environment where technical expertise and attention to detail are essential for success. Duties Conduct thorough inspections of railcars to identify mechanical issues or safety concerns Perform repairs and maintenance on railcar components, including wheels, brakes, and structural parts Use hand tools, power tools, and specialized equipment such as ohmmeters to diagnose and fix electrical and mechanical problems Maintain accurate records of repairs performed and parts used Assist in the replacement of damaged or worn parts to ensure railcar integrity Follow safety protocols and procedures during all repair activities Collaborate with team members to troubleshoot complex issues and improve repair processes Qualifications Proven mechanical knowledge with experience in vehicle or industrial equipment maintenance preferred Proficiency in using hand tools, power tools, and electrical testing devices such as ohmmeters Experience with vehicle maintenance or similar mechanical repair work is a plus Ability to read technical manuals and schematics Strong attention to detail and commitment to safety standards Ability to work independently or as part of a team in a fast-paced environment Prior experience working on railcars or heavy-duty vehicles is advantageous but not required This position requires a dedicated individual with a strong mechanical aptitude who is eager to contribute to maintaining the safety and efficiency of our railcar fleet.
Pay:
$20.00 - $25.00 per hour
