Job Description
RoadSafe Traffic Systems seeks a Traffic Control Flagger II to support construction and utility work zones. In this field role, you'll set up, maintain, and remove traffic control devices, safely direct vehicles and pedestrians, and follow detailed traffic control plans. You'll inspect signs and equipment, communicate with crew leaders via radio, and ensure strict adherence to safety and MUTCD standards. Responsibilities Set up, maintain, and remove traffic control devices around work zones Safely direct vehicle and pedestrian traffic using flags, signs, and signals Follow written traffic control plans and MUTCD standards Continuously monitor work zones and adjust control devices as needed Communicate with crew leaders and drivers via two-way radio Inspect and maintain signs, cones, barricades, and related equipment Wear and maintain required PPE at all times; uphold company safety policies Report hazards, incidents, and near-misses promptly Assist crews with basic site support tasks as directed Work variable hours, including nights and weekends, in all weather conditions Required Skills Traffic control setup Flagging and signaling Reading traffic control plans Use of cones, signs, and barricades Work zone safety compliance (MUTCD) Two-way radio communication Basic vehicle and equipment inspection PPE use and safety procedures Incident and hazard reporting Basic recordkeeping/documentation
