Job Description
Qualifications The minimum qualifications are:
High school diploma or GED; supplemented by five months of experience operating heavy equipment; or any equivalent combination of education, training, and experience which provides the requisite knowledge, skills, and abilities for this job. MUST possess and maintain a valid Texas Class A Commercial Driver's License (CDL) including appropriate endorsement(s). Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Requires the ability to determine, calculate, tabulate, or summarize data/information. Includes performing subsequent actions in relation to these computational operations. Requires the ability to provide guidance, assistance, and/or interpretation to others regarding the application of procedures and standards to specific situations. Requires the ability to overhaul, restore, renovate, construct, and/or rebuild equipment, machinery, or objects, requiring adherence to prescribed standards and specifications. Requires the ability to operate and control the actions of the same equipment, machinery, tools and/or materials requiring complex and/or rapid adjustments. Requires the ability to utilize a wide variety of reference and descriptive data and information. Requires the ability to perform addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division. May include counting, recording of counts, and basic measuring. Requires the ability to apply principles of rational systems; to interpret instructions furnished in written, oral, diagrammatic or schedule form; and to exercise independent judgement to adopt or modify methods and standards to meet variations in assigned objectives. Requires the ability to exercise judgement, decisiveness and creativity in situations involving a variety of generally pre-defined duties which are often characterized by frequent change. Tasks require the ability to exert heavy physical effort in heavy work with greater emphasis on climbing and balancing, but typically also involving some combination of stooping, kneeling, crouching, and crawling, and the lifting, carrying, pushing, and/or pulling of moderately heavy objects and materials (20-50 lbs); may occasionally involve heavier objects and materials (up to 100 lbs). Some tasks require the ability to perceive and discriminate colors or shades of colors, sounds, odor, depth, texture, and visual cures or signals. Some tasks require the ability to communicate orally. Performance of essential functions may require exposure to adverse environmental conditions, such as dirt, dust, pollen, odors, wetness, humidity, rain, fumes, temperature and noise extremes, machinery, vibrations, or traffic hazards. Shoveling Paving Material Candidate must be able to demonstrate ability to lift 10 lbs. weighted shovel from ground to above 40-inch height and back to floor start point with multiple repetitions. Push/Pull Equipment, debris Candidate must be able to demonstrate ability to generate peak force of 50 lbs. for pushing and pulling for one repetition for each direction. Vehicle Access Candidate must be able to demonstrate ability to step up/down directly to the 2nd rung of secured ladder, then directly down to the floor with multiple repetitions. Tool/Equipment Handling Candidate must be able to demonstrate the ability to reach their arm's length to perform handling fine/motor activity (nuts/bolts/washers) at floor level, knee level and overhead level for 60 second duration each for one repetition. Stair Climbing Candidate must be able to demonstrate ability to climb up/down 23 steps within 3-minutes.Lifting Demands:
