TRAFFIC CONTROL PERSONNEL
(TCP) Position Summary Traffic Control Personnel ensure the safe, orderly, and efficient flow of pedestrian and vehicular traffic throughout ANC. TCPs maintain safety at intersections and crosswalks, support funeral operations, and provide general directional assistance while preserving the solemn environment of the cemetery. Key Duties & Responsibilities Traffic & Pedestrian Control Direct pedestrian and vehicle traffic at designated posts throughout ANC. Maintain safety at intersections, crosswalks, tram areas, and funeral routes. Prevent unauthorized vehicles or pedestrians from bypassing required routes or screening lanes. Prioritize movement for funeral processions, senior official motorcades, and ceremonial activities. Set up and remove traffic control devices, including bollards and roadblocks. Redirect funeral attendees to appropriate parking areas. Posts are NOT self-breaking; TCPs must remain on post until relieved.
Requirements:
Minimum Qualifications High school diploma or equivalent. Two years of vehicle/pedestrian traffic operations experience (crosswalk control, intersection management, etc.). Must be a U.S. Citizen Must be 18 years of age or older Be proficient in the English language (e.g., read, write, speak) Able to write incident reports and statements Capable physical abilities and motor skills (color perception) Hear and respond to audible alarms Able to perform physical searches (baggage, containers, other objects) ?Daily demonstration of fit for duty without impairment. •
MUST HAVE OR BE ABLE TO OBTAIN, AT A MINIMUM, A PUBLIC TRUST BACKGROUND INVESTIGATION CLEARANCE AND/OR SECRET/TOP SECRET CLEARANCE
• Physical & Environmental Requirements Stand outdoors for long periods in varying weather. Maintain high situational awareness. Communicate clearly with drivers and pedestrians. Pay Rate Information The pay rate for this position is listed below. Local minimum wage laws apply. Individual pay decisions will depend on job-related factors such as experience, education, skill, performance, and geographic location where work will be performed. Pay Rate $19.39 per hour Health & Welfare benefit at standard current rate Benefits Eligible employees may enroll in the available medical, dental, and vision coverage plans.
