Job Description

Job Overview We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Traffic Controller to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for managing traffic flow at construction sites, ensuring the safety of both workers and the public. This role requires strong communication skills, a keen eye for detail. Responsibilities
  • Performs traffic control and flagging activities as needed; follows safety rules and regulations on all work zone and flagging sites, including placing signs, barricades, traffic cones and other warning devices, duties may vary according to job assignments.
  • Communicates with other flaggers using handheld radios to direct two-way traffic onto a single lane.
  • Appropriately positioning of warning and detour signs around construction sites
  • Operates vehicle and miscellaneous hand tools in accordance with all safety regulations and procedures, conducts routine equipment maintenance and daily equipment inspections according to Superior Pocahontas standards.
  • Performs basic manual labor as needed.
  • Prepares reports and maintains records.
  • Recording the license plate numbers of motorists who neglect to obey traffic signs and directions.
  • Provide clear instructions to drivers and pedestrians to minimize disruptions and enhance safety.
  • Maintain a clean and organized work area, ensuring all equipment is properly stored after use. Qualifications Valid Driver's License Must pass pre-employment drug screen High school diploma or GED
  • Proven experience working as a flagger preferred The ability to stand for extended periods The ability to work as part of a team The ability to lift 50 pounds Excellent organizational and problem-solving skills.
  • Exceptional observation skills
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to convey information clearly and effectively.
Ability to work in various weather conditions while maintaining focus on safety protocols.
