Job Description
Description of Work The City of Colby Electric Department is accepting applications for an Apprentice Lineman. This position performs skilled work (under direct supervision) in the construction, maintenance, and repair of electrical distribution and transmission lines, traffic signal system, transformers, and substation involving exposure to high voltage hot lines. Successful applicants will possess the knowledge of methods, materials, and tools used in power line construction and maintenance as applied to distribution and transmission lines; the ability to perform heavy physical work; lift and carry 100 pounds; communicate by two-way radio; work in varying weather conditions, operate trucks and equipment and work safely on energized lines. The applicant needs to have ability to obtain a valid Class A CDL with airbrakes. Starting salary range is dependent on experience.
