Lyndon, KS Job Summary We are seeking a detail-oriented and reliable Locate Technician to join our team in Lyndon, KS. The Locate Technician will be responsible for identifying and marking underground utility lines to ensure safe excavation and construction activities. This role requires strong communication skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work independently in various weather conditions. Key Responsibilities Respond to locate requests and accurately identify underground utilities using maps, blueprints, and electronic locating equipment. Mark utility lines with paint, flags, or stakes according to industry standards and local regulations. Communicate effectively with contractors, utility companies, and property owners to provide clear information about marked locations. Maintain detailed records of locate activities and report any discrepancies or issues encountered in the field. Ensure compliance with all safety protocols and regulatory requirements during locate operations. Operate and maintain locating equipment and tools in good working condition. Work outdoors in various weather conditions and navigate different types of terrain. Qualifications High school diploma or equivalent. Previous experience in utility locating, construction, or related field preferred. Knowledge of underground utility systems and local marking standards. Ability to read and interpret maps, blueprints, and technical drawings. Strong communication and interpersonal skills. Valid driver's license with a clean driving record. Ability to work independently and manage time effectively. Physical ability to perform outdoor work, including walking, bending, and lifting.
