Job Description

Position Overview We are seeking a skilled and motivated Utility Locating Technician to join our team in Wixom/Novi area. The ideal candidate will be responsible for accurately locating underground utility lines, including gas and electric utilities, ensuring safety and precision in all tasks. This role requires strong documentation skills, the ability to work outdoors in various weather conditions, and a commitment to construction safety priorities. Mandatory training will be conducted for this position both in class and in the field before certification. Key Responsibilities Locate underground utility lines, specifically gas and electric utilities, using appropriate tools and techniques. Read and interpret prints, maps, and other documentation to accurately identify utility locations. Document all work completed thoroughly and accurately. Work outdoors in various weather conditions while maintaining safety standards. Maintain an excellent driving record and operate company vehicles safely. Collaborate effectively with team members to achieve project goals. Adhere to construction safety priorities and protocols at all times. Be available to work over 40 up to 60 hours per week, including 6 days a week and on-call shifts as needed. Required Skills and Qualifications Excellent documentation skills, including detailed recording of work completed. Ability to read and understand prints, maps, and technical drawings. Willingness and ability to work outdoors in various weather conditions. Excellent driving record and valid driver's license. Availability to work 40 to 60 hours per week, including 6 days a week and on-call availability. Knowledge of construction safety priorities and best practices. Strong motivation and a solid work ethic. Ability to work well within a team environment to meet shared goals. Must pass a DOT drug screen as a condition of employment.
