Locate Technician Location:
Springfield, MO Job Summary We are seeking a detail-oriented and reliable Locate Technician to join our team in Springfield, MO. The Locate Technician will be responsible for identifying and marking underground utility lines to ensure safe excavation and construction activities. This role requires strong communication skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work independently in various weather conditions. Key Responsibilities Locate and mark underground utilities such as gas, water, electric, and telecommunications lines using specialized equipment. Respond to locate requests in a timely manner, adhering to local and federal regulations. Interpret maps, blueprints, and other documentation to accurately identify utility locations. Communicate effectively with contractors, utility companies, and customers to provide clear information about marked areas. Maintain accurate records of locate activities and submit reports as required. Operate and maintain locating equipment and tools safely and efficiently. Follow all safety protocols and procedures to prevent damage to underground utilities and ensure personal safety. Qualifications High school diploma or equivalent. Previous experience in utility locating, construction, or related field preferred. Ability to read and interpret maps, blueprints, and technical drawings. Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Valid driver's license and reliable transportation. Ability to work outdoors in various weather conditions and lift up to 50 lbs. Work Environment This position involves outdoor work in a variety of weather conditions.
