Job Description
- Distribution Lineman- Coast Division Roving Crew
- Position will be filled as a Lineman. The headquarters for this position is Gulfport, MS. In addition to this requirement, the successful candidate must be able to work within any location in that division.
- This position will be covered by the Memorandum of Agreement between Mississippi Power and the International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers
- Job Summary
- This position will be filled as a Lineman This position is responsible for performing overhead distribution construction work for grid investment projects such as reconductors, storm hardening, conversions, and adding/upgrading sectionalizing equipment, as well as system repair and storm restoration.
- Job Responsibilities
- Candidate must safely perform any work normally or reasonably required in this classification.
- Job Requirements
- Must pass or have passed the Construction and Skills Trade Test (CAST) to be considered.
- Other Requirements
- For the applicant to be hired as a journeyman lineman, 5 years distribution line crew experience is preferred.
- Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
- Candidates should have a comprehensive knowledge of customer relation skills and the ability to think clearly and make logical decisions under pressure.
