Job Description

Job Summary:
The Lineman is responsible for installing, repairing, and maintaining electrical power systems, overhead and underground lines, and related equipment. This role involves working outdoors in various weather conditions, climbing poles, operating heavy tools, and ensuring all work is performed safely and efficiently.
Key Responsibilities:
Install, maintain, and repair overhead and underground electrical distribution and transmission lines. Climb poles and structures using proper climbing gear and safety practices. Operate equipment such as bucket trucks, diggers, trenchers, and other line-related tools. Perform troubleshooting and identify issues related to power outages or electrical failures. Follow safety guidelines and ensure compliance with company and industry regulations. Assist with setting poles, stringing wire, installing transformers, and completing connection work. Respond to emergency power outages, sometimes after hours or during storms. Work as part of a crew to complete projects efficiently and safely. Maintain tools, equipment, and vehicles in good working condition.
Qualifications:
High school diploma or GED required. Previous lineman or utility experience preferred but not always required. Ability to climb poles and work at heights for extended periods. Must be able to lift 50+ lbs and perform physically demanding tasks. Valid driver's license (CDL preferred or ability to obtain). Strong understanding of electrical safety practices and procedures. Ability to work outdoors in all weather conditions.

Work Environment:
Outdoor environment with exposure to heights, energized lines, and heavy equipment. May require overtime, weekends, and emergency response work.

$18.00 - $25.00 per hour
