Description Job Description Position Summary:
Shift:
4x10hr shifts M-Th (75% overnight travel required) This is an entry level position where the successful candidate must have the ability to work both independently and as part of a team. The candidate will work with the crew on the construction of both aerial and buried coax, copper, and fiber optic cables, according to company construction practices and procedures. Responsibilities:
Competent pole and ladder climbing skills Works aloft utilizing climbing gaffs, ladders, and mechanical lifts Operates company vehicles and equipment including bucket trucks, fork lifts, backhoes/trenchers, and other machines Works outdoors in the elements Reads network design prints Accurately maintains daily log sheet and inventory paperwork Knowledge of NESC construction guidelines and Armstrong construction practices Follows all Armstrong safety policies Maintains vehicles and machines to Armstrong standards Other assigned tasks
Qualifications:
High school diploma or equivalent (GED) Must possess a positive attitude, a strong work-ethic, and a desire to learn DOT medical card Frequent, overnight travel required Physical capabilities including climbing, lifting, and carrying a minimum of 75 lbs. Must maintain physical fitness to meet weight limit requirements for ladders and lifts and be able to meet the demands of a labor-intensive job Must be able to take direction verbally and written and be able to work rapidly under time pressure Demonstrated ability to make sound judgments and ethical decisions Available to work after business hours as required, i.e. storm damage Regular, punctual, and consistent attendance Can be obtained after hire: Commercial driver's license with appropriate endorsements, fork lift certification, flagging certification, and pole climbing certification For immediate consideration, all qualified candidates should apply now!
