As a 3rd-generation, family-owned company and OSHA-accredited inspection authority, we take pride in the quality of our work and the professionals who represent us in the field. We're growing — and we're looking for an experienced crane technician who takes that same pride in their craft. About the Role This is a hands-on field position serving industrial customers throughout the Houston metro area and surrounding regions. You'll work independently on a wide range of overhead crane and hoist systems — performing inspections, service, repairs, and installations at customer facilities. You'll interact directly with customers on-site, so professionalism and communication matter as much as technical skill. What You'll Do Perform OSHA-compliant overhead crane and hoist inspections Diagnose and repair mechanical and electrical failures Install new overhead crane systems and associated components Perform preventive maintenance and scheduled service Document findings accurately and communicate clearly with the office team Represent Kempco professionally at every customer site What We're Looking For Proven hands-on experience with overhead cranes, hoists, and industrial lifting equipment Strong troubleshooting skills — mechanical and electrical Ability to work independently in industrial environments with minimal supervision Professional appearance and communication with customers on-site Valid driver's license and clean driving record Bonus experience (not required — but valued): VFDs and crane control systems Hoist and trolley service Structural modifications, welding, or fabrication OSHA crane safety standards and regulations Load testing procedures Required — Background & Clearance Candidates must be able to obtain a TWIC card (Transportation Worker Identification Credential) and must be able to pass a pre-employment drug test and random drug screenings as a condition of employment.
