Aerial Lineman -
Job Description Position Summary:
An Aerial Lineman installs, repairs, and maintains overhead telecommunications and power lines. The role involves working at heights to construct and service aerial fiber optic and coaxial cable networks, ensuring reliable connectivity and compliance with safety standards. Key Responsibilities Construct, install, and maintain overhead fiber optic and coaxial cable lines. String and tension aerial cables using appropriate tools and hardware. Perform pole transfers, cable placements, grounding, and bonding. Read and interpret construction maps, blueprints, and work orders. Operate bucket trucks, tension machines, and other aerial construction equipment safely. Identify and correct line faults, signal loss, or physical damage to cables. Adhere to OSHA, DOT, and company safety standards and protocols at all times. Collaborate with ground crews, engineers, and splicers to ensure efficient workflow. Document work completed and report field issues promptly. Perform emergency repairs during outages or severe weather when required. Qualifications High school diploma or GED (technical or trade school preferred). 1-3+ years of experience in aerial construction or line work (telecom, CATV, or power). Valid driver's license with an acceptable driving record (CDL preferred). Proficiency in climbing poles and working aloft in harnesses and from bucket trucks. Knowledge of aerial construction practices, cable loading, and rigging safety. Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions and lift up to 75 lbs. Skills and Attributes Strong commitment to safety and teamwork. Mechanical aptitude and comfort working with power tools and heavy equipment. Attention to detail and problem-solving ability in field conditions. Effective communication skills and reliability under physical demands.
