Job Description

JOB DESCRIPTION
As a Traveling Wind Turbine Technician at J&J, you will support the wind division in all aspects, primarily focusing on up-tower repairs. Your daily tasks will range from specialty up-tower repairs such as welding blade bearing teeth and blade bolt extraction to basic preventive maintenance and base bolt tensioning. You will be responsible for providing quality services, following site rules, and adhering to all safety policies. Detailed reports on tasks performed must be completed daily.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Travel 75% of the time and work overtime, including a variable work schedule as needed to meet business goals. Use specialized tools (calibration, hydraulic, power tools) and turbine equipment. Act as a safety role model, encouraging and recognizing others for safe acts and intervening when necessary. Adhere to all safety standards and procedures, identifying and mitigating risks. Support and mentor lower-level technical staff, fostering a collaborative team environment. Interface with customers and professionally handle inquiries, escalating complex issues when necessary.
REQUIREMENTS
Must be able to travel for extended periods of time (75% travel required). Must pass a pre-employment physical test and drug screening . Ability to read and understand operating manuals, parts manuals, blueprints, and technical drawings . Flexibility to work overtime when necessary. High school diploma or equivalent . Valid driver's license . Ability to work in unfavorable weather conditions . Comfortable working at heights over 300' . Authorized to work in the U.S. Must be able to read, write, and speak fluent English .

Experience working at heights . Knowledge and experience in machine shops or welding shops . Electrical experience is a plus. OSHA 10 certification preferred. Military Veterans are strongly encouraged to apply!

$25.00 - $50.00 per hour
