Bowling Green, Ohio, United States

Turbine Specialist - Gas Turbines

Location:

Ohio - Multiple Project Sites

Schedule:

6x10s (60 hours/week)

Duration:

Long-term; potential through July 2028

Per Diem:

Provided for eligible travelers

Position Summary

Seeking an experienced Turbine Specialist to provide on-site technical and construction oversight for the installation and commissioning of gas turbine generators across multiple project sites in Ohio.

This individual will represent the owner in the field, monitoring contractor and vendor activities and helping ensure turbine installation is completed safely, correctly, and in accordance with project specifications and manufacturer requirements.

The projects will include Siemens SGT-400, SGT-700, SGT-800, and A35 turbine units. Strong Siemens gas turbine experience is highly preferred.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide field oversight of turbine generator installation, assembly, alignment, and commissioning activities
  • Monitor contractor and vendor work for compliance with manufacturer requirements, project specifications, quality standards, and approved procedures
  • Verify proper installation sequencing and critical assembly activities
  • Oversee turbine alignment, tolerance checks, inspections, and testing
  • Identify installation, mechanical, or technical issues and assist with troubleshooting and resolution
  • Coordinate with project site teams, contractors, OEM/vendor representatives, and other stakeholders
  • Monitor installation progress against the project schedule and identify potential concerns or delays
  • Support mechanical completion, turnover, commissioning, and startup activities
  • Provide daily reporting covering safety, quality, schedule, risks, field issues, and overall progress
  • Travel between multiple Ohio project locations as required
    Preferred Experience
  • Strong gas turbine installation, commissioning, maintenance, or technical field experience
  • Siemens gas turbine experience strongly preferred
  • Experience with SGT-series turbines, particularly SGT-800, is highly desirable
  • Experience providing construction oversight, inspection, field engineering, technical advisory, or owner's representation
  • Strong understanding of turbine assembly, alignment, tolerances, mechanical installation, and troubleshooting
  • Ability to work independently in the field and coordinate effectively with contractors, vendors, and project leadership
    Project Details
    Three project locations in Ohio, including Bowling Green and the New Albany area.

Sites are approximately two hours apart, and the Turbine Specialist may support activities across all three locations.

The position is expected to work a 6x10 schedule and could potentially continue through July 2028, depending on project needs.
