Role Overview The Mechanical Specialist C 1, Field Outage Services supports field service operations by assisting in the maintenance, repair, and inspection of gas and steam turbine generators. This role applies developing technical skills to perform mechanical and electrical component work, troubleshoot equipment issues, and ensure safe, high-quality execution of field projects. The position requires strong hands-on ability, attention to safety, and frequent travel to customer sites. Key Responsabilities Demonstrates our core competencies: Action oriented, change champion, customer-focused, developing self & others, and ownership Assist in maintenance, repair, and replacement of turbine generator components Support alignment of turbine combustors and components (e.g., blade rings, seal housings, transitions) Assist with rigging activities, including heavy lifts and turbine rotor removal/installation Support coupling alignment on rotating equipment and turbine generators Follow safety, quality, and material control procedures during inspections and maintenance activities Assist with removal and installation of turbine blades and vane segments Use precision measuring equipment to support data interpretation Assist with troubleshooting mechanical and electrical issues Follow crane safety practices and proper lifting procedures Maintain tool inventory and communicate reordering needs Provide feedback to support tooling and process improvements Support 24/7 service operations as needed Travel extensively (approximately 70) to support field service work Requirements High school diploma or GED Ability to read and interpret technical documents, safety rules, and procedures Basic mathematical skills (e.g., measurements, percentages, calculations) Ability to follow written, verbal, and diagram-based instructions Valid driver's license and passport required Ability to travel approximately 70 (domestic and/or international) Strong communication and teamwork skills Commitment to safety, integrity, and quality Physical & Safety Requirements At Mitsubishi Power, safety is our top priority.
This role requires:
Regular standing, walking, bending, and lifting Frequent lifting up to 25 lbs. and occasional lifting up to 50 lbs. Work in industrial environments that may include noise, heat, and exposure to chemicals Compliance with all safety procedures and use of personal protective equipment (PPE), including hard hats, safety glasses, hearing protection, and fall protection Why Should You Apply?
