Job Description

Skillforce is currently seeking an experienced, hands-on Lead Field Technician to oversee and work alongside a maintenance crew of up to 10 workers on a 5-week long project in Sandston, VA. This role involves leading a field team performing cleaning and maintenance on specialized cooling equipment in large industrial facilities and data centers. Work is physically active, hands-on, and performed in outdoor and industrial environments. This is a client-facing position, where the Lead Field Technician will communicate directly with the client on-site to coordinate daily work activities, confirm priorities, and ensure the project scope is being executed correctly. Key Responsibilities Lead and work alongside a crew of laborers and technicians on daily tasks Coordinate daily work activities with the client and site contacts Perform hands-on maintenance work on industrial cooling systems and equipment Clean cooling coils and related system components Remove and replace air filtration components as needed Ensure all work is completed safely, correctly, and on schedule Monitor crew performance and maintain quality standards Submit daily job reports and updates Track and manage crew timekeeping Report any on-site issues, delays, or safety concerns immediately Support onboarding, training, and direction of crew members as needed Follow all site-specific safety rules and company procedures Qualifications Previous experience in construction, industrial maintenance, mechanical work, or similar hands-on environments preferred Prior leadership or crew lead experience strongly preferred Strong mechanical aptitude and willingness to perform physical, hands-on work Ability to read and follow instructions, scopes of work, and jobsite direction Comfortable working outdoors and in varying weather conditions Experience using hand tools and basic maintenance equipment Reliable attendance and dependable transportation Ability to pass a background check Required Certification OSHA 10 Certification Benefits Competitive pay up to $35.00/hour based on experience Opportunity to gain leadership experience with a reputable contractor Health, Dental, and Vision Insurance 401(k) Retirement Plan Paid Time Off and Holiday Pay Employee Referral Bonus Program If you are a motivated leader with a strong work ethic and hands-on maintenance experience, apply today to join the Skillforce team and help lead a successful project in Sandston, VA. #skilltravel
