- Full-time Under the general direction of the Associate Executive Director, the Maintenance and Vehicle Specialist is responsible for the maintenance and management of buildings, structures, grounds, appliances, durable medical equipment and vehicles belonging to or occupied by NHR.

Physical Demands:
While performing the duties associated with this position, an employee (using approved agency techniques) will be called upon to engage in physical activity including but not limited to: standing; walking; sitting; using hands (or hands and arms) to carry, lift, finger, handle or feel objects, tools or controls; reaching with hands and arms; climbing stairs; balancing; stooping; crouching and kneeling. Employees will also be regularly required to hear (with or without hearing devices), see (with or without corrective lenses) and speak.Working Conditions and Environment:
While performing the duties associated with this position, an employee will be primarily at the Administration Building supporting the residential and day programs; on agency grounds; in a van or other vehicle; or, in the community at large. This position is typically scheduled to work a Monday through Friday schedule, but does require availability to work holidays, evenings and/or weekends to facilitate safety and address emergencies. This position will require a cell phone (provided by the agency) and maintain on call responsibilities for emergencies and consultation. This position may expose employees to inclement weather. This position may expose employees to chemicals associated with maintenance work including but not limited to paint, cleaning agents, etc. This position may expose employees to blood borne pathogens. This position may expose employees to the profanity and offensive/violent behavior of individuals supported. In a manner consistent with NHR's Mission Statement and Unifying Principals of Integrity, Respect, Positive Relationships, Innovation, Learning and applicable laws and regulations, an employee in this position shall: Provide support to the Maintenance Team and Agency Staff. Develop, implement and oversee a schedule of preventative maintenance for agency structures, grounds, appliance, durable medical equipment and vehicles; and, ensure its completion. Develop, maintain and manage a work requisition and control system to ensure that maintenance of agency buildings, structures, grounds, appliances, durable medical equipment and vehicles is performed in an efficient and cost-effective manner that is responsive to the needs of people supported and NHR's staff. Coordinate projects within NHR, including working closely with other departments to ensure that completed project is within the parameters of what is acceptable by NHR and regulatory oversight organizations. Maintain a safe, orderly work environment. Maintain an inventory of department materials and recommend additional purchases as needed. Keep accurate electronic records for each vehicle, appliance and piece of durable medical equipment belonging to the agency using Fleetio or other fleet management software specified by the agency. Utilize Fleetio, for monitoring needs for preventative maintenance (such as oil changes, tire rotations, etc.) and ensuring that such maintenance is completed on a timely basis and that Fleetio is updated to reflect the performance of such maintenance. Utilize Fleetio to track and respond to program reports of needs for corrective action/repairs for vehicles, appliances and durable medical equipment, ensure that such corrective action/repairs are completed on a timely basis and that Fleetio is updated to reflect the performance of such corrective action/repairs. Work closely with agency staff with crisis management of vehicles and facilities.Similar remote jobs
