Maintenance Assistant:
Assisted Living As a Maintenance Assistant, you will help ensure our Assisted Living Community, surrounding buildings, and grounds are safe, clean, and well maintained. This role supports resident comfort and safety by assisting with routine maintenance, preventive care, and grounds upkeep while working closely with community leadership.
What You'll Do:
Maintain the Assisted Living Community, buildings, and grounds in a clean and orderly condition Assist with maintaining furnaces, air conditioners, boilers, and water systems to provide heat, cooling, and hot water for residents Perform routine maintenance and minor repairs including painting, plumbing, electrical work, wiring, and general upkeep Replace air-conditioner filters and complete monthly maintenance checklists Assist with disaster preparedness efforts, including fire drills and emergency readiness activities Notify management of major repair or replacement needs related to lighting, heating, or ventilation systems Remove snow, ice, debris, and other hazards from sidewalks and grounds Oversee landscaping services and assist with mowing lawns, trimming shrubs, and maintaining flowers as needed Safely use hand tools and power tools to complete assigned tasks
Physical Demands:
Stand, walk, bend, kneel, crouch, and change positions frequently Lift up to 50 lbs. and push or pull equipment as needed Work indoors and outdoors in varying weather conditions
Safety Requirements:
Follow OSHA and facility safety policies at all times Use appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) Safely operate hand tools, power tools, and maintenance equipment Report work-related injuries within 12 hours and complete required documentation Participate in company drug testing procedures
Work Environment:
This role operates in both indoor and outdoor environments and involves interaction with residents, staff, vendors, and leadership.
Qualifications:
Must be at least 18 years of age High school diploma or equivalent required Basic knowledge of building maintenance and safety practices preferred
