Overview We are seeking a skilled and motivated Maintenance Assistant to join our team on a part-time or full-time basis. This vital role involves supporting the maintenance and safety of our facility through hands-on technical work, troubleshooting, and preventative care. The ideal candidate will possess strong mechanical knowledge, electrical experience, and familiarity with facilities maintenance practices to ensure our environment remains safe, functional, and welcoming for residents and staff alike. Duties Perform routine inspections and preventative maintenance on building systems, including electrical, plumbing, HVAC, and mechanical equipment. Conduct painting, carpentry and other general maintenance tasks to uphold facility standards. Utilize technical manuals to troubleshoot issues effectively and execute repairs efficiently. Assist with maintenance projects, ensuring safety protocols are followed and work is completed on schedule. Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities using Logs and Computerized Maintenance Management Systems. Support the team in emergency repairs or urgent maintenance needs to minimize downtime and ensure resident safety. Experience Proven experience in facilities maintenance within healthcare or residential environments. Strong mechanical knowledge Knowledge of tools and medical equipment for efficient fixes Excellent communication skills to coordinate effectively with team members and external vendors. Customer service orientation with the ability to prioritize safety, quality, and efficiency in all tasks.
