Maintenance Automation Technician

Maintenance Automation Technician Northern Illinois | Food & Beverage Manufacturing A highly automated food manufacturing facility in Northern Illinois is looking to add a strong Maintenance Automation Technician to their team. This role is ideal for someone with hands-on experience in PLC programming, controls troubleshooting, HMIs, VFDs, remote I/O, and machine vision systems inside a manufacturing environment. This company continues to invest heavily into automation, controls, and continuous improvement initiatives while offering strong compensation, excellent benefits, and a schedule working roughly 14 days per month .

Responsibilities:

Troubleshoot and support PLC and automation systems Maintain and validate control systems and backups Support production uptime and continuous improvement efforts Work with HMIs, VFDs, remote I/O, and machine vision systems Read electrical schematics and process diagrams Partner with maintenance and operations teams on troubleshooting and repairs

Qualifications:

Experience with Allen Bradley PLCs Strong troubleshooting skills within automation/controls Experience with HMIs, VFDs, Ethernet/IP, or Modbus Manufacturing experience required Food manufacturing experience preferred Ability to troubleshoot electrical/control systems up to 480

V Compensation & Benefits:
