Job Title:
Maintenance Coordinator Job Description The Maintenance Coordinator supports the maintenance team by coordinating and ordering parts, managing inventory, and working closely with pump technicians to ensure timely and efficient service. This role suits an energetic, eager professional who understands maintenance operations, enjoys working with both vendors and internal teams, and is comfortable learning new systems and technical product details. Responsibilities Coordinate and order parts required for maintenance and repair activities, ensuring timely availability for the maintenance team. Work closely with pump technicians to understand upcoming service needs and align parts and materials accordingly. Follow and update work orders and parts usage in the ERP system to maintain accurate records of repairs and inventory. Manage inventory control for maintenance parts, including tracking stock levels and initiating purchase orders when needed. Communicate regularly with vendors to obtain pricing, place orders, and track deliveries for maintenance parts and supplies. Coordinate with customer service and clients to schedule service work and ensure clear communication regarding timing and requirements. Use a tablet and related software to track repairs, record pictures, document comments and notes, and update job status. Assist with troubleshooting basic issues related to parts and service coordination to help keep maintenance activities on schedule. Support onboarding activities by helping integrate new processes or tools related to parts coordination and service tracking. Use email and other communication tools to share updates, confirm orders, and respond to internal and external inquiries in a timely manner. Essential Skills Proven experience coordinating and ordering parts in a maintenance, tool crib, automotive parts, or similar environment. Hands-on experience with inventory control and tracking parts used in maintenance or repair operations. Ability to coordinate effectively with vendors and clients, including obtaining pricing and confirming orders and delivery timelines. Computer savvy with the ability to quickly learn and navigate an ERP system. Comfort using a tablet to track repairs, upload pictures, and enter comments and notes. Proficiency with Outlook and email for daily communication and coordination. Strong organizational skills with attention to detail in managing parts, schedules, and documentation. Positive attitude, team-oriented mindset, and reliable daily attendance. Ability to understand the maintenance side of operations and how parts and service activities connect. Willingness and ability to quickly learn different pump parts and related service requirements. Additional Skills & Qualifications Experience working in a tool crib, parts counter, or automotive parts store environment. Experience working in a maintenance coordinator or similar support role. Pump repair experience or direct exposure to pump maintenance operations. Familiarity with SharePoint or similar platforms for storing and sharing repair documentation. Experience working in an industrial environment with maintenance or repair teams. Demonstrated ability to work as a proactive, self-motivated team player with a strong service mindset. Why Work Here? Work Environment The role is based in an industrial, non-climate-controlled shop environment where you work side by side with pump technicians and maintenance personnel. This is a first-shift position with hours from 7:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m., totaling approximately 40 hours per week, with occasional overtime that may occur but is not guaranteed. You will regularly use an ERP system, tablets, SharePoint, Outlook, and email to manage parts, track repairs, and communicate with vendors and internal teams. The facility is organized and compact, which supports close collaboration and efficient workflows. Job Type & Location This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Oak Park, MI. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $24.00 - $24.00/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
