Job Description
Possesses exceptional knowledge of facilities electrical/main services and related sup service systems. Certification in the National Electrical Code (NEC). Responsible for inspection and maintenance of power distribution systems. Ability to diagnose and quickly respond to repair of systems. Ability in repair techniques. Ability to identify areas of energy waste and capable of making logical and cost-effective improvements. Work with department heads to solve power and lighting problems.
Job Summary:
- Responsible for maintaining the highest possible safety standards. Especially during installation practices and equipment repair operations.
- Ability to use a wide variety of testing equipment including: digital and analog volt, ohm and ammeters; gauss meter; and infrared scanning equipment.
- Continually research industry standards to maintain highest efficiency of lighting and power systems.
- Work with local utilities to communicate possible problems, such as scheduled power outages and rolling blackouts.
- Familiar with vendors available to supply inventory emergency service when needed.
- Create and maintain accurate records and files of maintenance procedures.
- Work with Facility Planning on in-house projects.
- Safety - Learns and complies with all company safety rules, Uses appropriate safety equipment at all times, immediately reports all unsafe conditions to supervisors; Must be familiar with all safety features or equipment, machinery, or materials encompassed by job duties; Must check with supervisor if there is a question as to the safe procedure to be used for any job function.
Required Skills:
- Knowledge of and ability to apply NEC rules to all electrical work done at Lands' End by maintenance personnel.
- Continual education to maintain NEC certification.
- Minimum of Journeyman level or equivalent (5 years) of commercial and industrial electrical experience.
- Expert knowledge in the use of test equipment (listed above) along with good computer skills, with the ability to use it as a maintenance tool, i.e., research, testing, Internet.
- Ability to prioritize and adjust to changing schedules.
- Ability to provide updated information and training procedures to maintenance personnel
- Must have valid driver's license and acceptable driving record.
- Must obtain certification to operate forklifts and all Lands' End motorized vehicles.
